The Ford Foundation, somewhat quietly over the past five or six years, has been running one of the finest arts education initiatives I have ever encountered. While that program is in a sunset mode, fingers crossed that there will be room for arts education in Ford's new work.

BMW M1

Remember the BMW M1 from the late 70's and early 80's? Sure, we all do — how could someone forget the only BMW mid-engined homologated racer? Well, for you fans of that MotorWorken hotness, we've got an exciting bit of news out of the Concorso d'Eleganza at Villa d'Este, an Italian gathering hosting precious metal from all over the world. The Germans suprised everyone by bringing a piece of racing hotness hearkening back to those halcyon days of the late 70's — kind of a thirtieth anniversary present to lovers of the old M1. It's called the BMW M1 Homage concept, a modern-day interpretation of the mid-engined Bavarian exotic. So is this flame-surfaced M1 successor a future classic? Well, it's hard to say.

LEXUS LF-A GOSSIP

File this gossip under T for "Toyota REFUSES to be shown up by the Nissan GT-R." According to World Car Fans, Auto Express and Japanese car mag Holiday Auto are claiming that the new 552 horsepower Lexus LF-A has set a record lap around the Nurburgring at somewhere around 7 minutes and 24 seconds, which should top times set by the Pagani Zonda F and the Porsche 911 GT2 of 7:27 and 7:32/7:25, respectively. This is still all a rumor and has probably followed the same telephone tree that gave us the teacher's strike and purple monkey dishwasher. [World Car Fans]

Bugatti

Over the years Bugatti has released various special edition Veyron the latest being the Grand Sport. Thus it’s only fair that they release another technical marvel to celebrate a century of being at the top of the automotive industry. Bugatti was formed in 1909 and has a rich heritage in the automotive industry and only was recently plucked up by VW.

According to 4wheelnews a 1350HP Bugatti Veyron Centenaire edition will feature in the coming motor show which will feature a top speed of 420 kmph and custom built carbon fibre body to keep the weight down.

The Ferrari F70 will be based on the Aurea Concept launched by Ferrari in 2004. The Aurea Project was born from the desire to place the F1 DNA on a normal car. This is what the new F70 will be about: a car with the design and power of a F1 car, but specially designed for the road.

On designing the Enzo, Ferrari needed to make some compromises in order that both the design and the technologies of the car to be satisfied. So they build the Enzo on aerodynamic consideration. But when they build the FXX they have realized that the Enzo could have all the technologies they had to give up. And in the F70 case all the aerodynamic will be hide under the car. The result is that the exterior design of the F70 won’t be affected by compromises, like in the case of the Enzo due to the aerodynamic technology developed by Ferrari and used in the FXX.
